| MTV’s Teen Mom- Sneak peek of next week. |
[06 Jan 2010|08:09pm] |
You know you want another Teen Mom post. It’s ONTD’s new obsession—underage girls who fucked up their lives by getting sperminated by douchebags. This show makes me want to tie my tubes.
This week we saw our favorite incompetent teen mom Farrah get owned by her dad and her date for her lax parenting. Amber stayed in a seedy hotel drowning her sorrows in Oreos and juice before being wooed again by a repentant Gary who came bearing the gifts of candles and meatloaf from Cracker Barrel (Seriously, I’m not making this up). Catelynn went to a retreat for women who gave their babies up for adoption. Maci continued to deal with her lame boyfriend Ryan who can’t be bothered with her or his son.
Next week -- Maci takes dumbass Ryan to task for not taking care of his son Bentley.

| Obama to derail Lost Premiere? |
[06 Jan 2010|07:53pm] |
ABC insiders may soon want to tell President Obama to get "Lost."
The White House is finalizing plans for this year's State of the Union address and is said to be mulling two dates for the speech, according to a person familiar with the matter: Jan. 26 and Feb. 2.
So what's wrong with that? Well, Jan. 26 would mean an interruption of "American Idol" -- though Fox likely planned for that (or would simply tell the White House to take a hike, as it has before).
But Feb. 2? Other than the fact that it's a holiday (Groundhog's Day/TV MoJoe's birthday), that's the date ABC months ago staked out for the premiere of the final season of "Lost."

| James Franco Will Saw Off His Own Arm |
[06 Jan 2010|07:38pm] |
|

We've known for two months that Danny Boyle's next film will be 127 Hours, based on the true story of a mountain climber who got stuck under a boulder and had to do terrible things to survive. And now we know which lucky (?) actor will play the guy: James Franco.
That's the word from industry publication Production Weekly, which tweeted earlier today that Franco has the part, and that filming will begin in early March in Utah. The mountaineer, Aron Ralston, was climbing in southeastern Utah in 2003 when a boulder came loose and crushed his arm against the wall of the canyon, pinning him there for several days. Probably something like 125 or 130 hours total, I'm guessing. (You can read all the gruesome, bone-sawing details on Ralston's Wikipedia page.) Anyway, while there are no specifics yet, one assumes Boyle will be shooting in the same general area where the incident happened, which isn't too far from where John Ford used to shoot a lot of his Westerns.
The big question is how a film that is basically a one-man show -- in which that one man is trapped under a rock most of the time -- will be interesting to watch. Franco is a good actor, but does he have the intensity and charisma required to hold our attention when he's the only person on the screen? A lot will probably depend on what the screenplay (which Boyle is writing with his Slumdog Millionaire collaborator, Simon Beaufoy) gives Franco to do while he's lying there. If it involves a lot of grinning and squinting, perfect!
Could be interesting. I'm thinking lots of flashbacks. source

Michael Jackson Fan Hacks Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's Web Site
On Monday, in a prank as brazen as it was odd, the Web site of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was hacked by a dissident who also happens to be a Michael Jackson fan.
A message posted on the site addressed God, who had taken Jackson from the Earth in 2009, suggesting that he should take Ahmadinejad in '10.
"Dear God, in 2009 you took my favorite singer — Michael Jackson, my favorite actress — Farrah Fawcett, my favorite actor — Patrick Swayze, my favorite voice — Neda [a reference to Neda Agha-Soltan, an Iranian who was killed during last year's protests of the country's presidential election]," the message read. "Please, please, don't forget my favorite politician — Ahmadinejad, and my favorite dictator — [Iranian cleric Ali] Khamenei in the year 2010. Thank you."
Ahmadinejad's site has since been taken offline — either intentionally or because its servers were overloaded by visitors hoping to catch a glimpse of the hack — but screen captures of the hack quickly spread throughout the Internet, as commenters marveled at the audacity of the attack and its message.
The hack comes in the wake of last year's election protests, in which Iranian students and others took to sites like Twitter — which the Iranian government reportedly attempted to ban — to post footage of marches and convey their outrage to the rest of the world. In December, a group calling itself the "Iranian Cyber Army" attacked Twitter with a hack that redirected users to a site that claimed, "We control and manage [the] Internet by our power."

| ONTD's Most Memorable Posts of 2009: Discussion/Nominations |
[06 Jan 2010|06:25pm] |

Thanks to ecctv for the amazing graphic!
It's time again for everybody to give input on the most memorable, best, funniest, craziest, etc. posts from the year that just was.
If you missed last year's shenanigans, here are some relevant links:
[NOMINATIONS] [VOTING] [RESULTS]
Now that you have an idea of how things worked last year, please note that it MAY be a bit different this time around.
The purpose of this entry is for you all to discuss what posts you think should be considered. How you discuss this is up to you. You can post links to posts, you can ask for links, you can say "Does anyone remember..." or "Wasn't it so funny when...", you can pitch your own posts--this is basically an ON TOPIC free for all. DO NOT go OT, please.
In a day or two, I'll make a second entry. That entry will consist of a list of posts in the comments (one thread per post). I'll probably screen comments while I input everything, then unscreen them. What you'll do then--and this may change, but it's what I have in mind for now--is reply to any thread that contains a post you think should be considered for our Top 20. Depending on how many posts get a ton of "votes," the third post will either be the results (based on the number of responses to threads from the previous post) or a runoff/poll/whatever to break things down further.
Got it? Good.
Have fun!

Kings Of Leon: 'We're not recording with Leona Lewis'
Kings Of Leon have denied that they are set to record with Leona Lewis, despite some reports alluding to a possible collaboration.
It was claimed that the Followill clan were going to join the former X Factor winner in the studio because they were "big fans" of the singer. It was also claimed that Lewis will be working with Robbie Williams.
However, drummer Nathan Followill has denied the claim.
"Contrary to reports out there Kings Of Leon are not writing or recording with Leona Lewis," he wrote this afternoon (January 6) on Twitter.
The band are currently taking time off after touring extensively last year.

| Cheryl Cole Denies Marriage Problems |
[06 Jan 2010|02:52pm] |

Cheryl Cole has denied rumors that her marriage is in trouble.
The 'Fight For This Love' singer triggered speculation that her relationship with footballer Ashley was on the rocks last year after she was spotted without her wedding ring during several episodes of The X Factor.
However, the 26-year-old has now shot down reports of a rift with her husband, insisting that she only took off her ring as a "fashion statement".
Cheryl told Glamour: "Do people really think I'm going to have an argument and take my ring off? It was a fashion statement more than a marriage statement. As my wedding ring is yellow it doesn't go with everything."
The Girls Aloud star went on to admit that the constant claims about their marriage had taken its toll on the pair. She added: "[Ashley] broke down about it all. He called me from the garage and said, 'I feel sick. I'm on the cover of every magazine because apparently I've made you cry'.
"My family love Ashley but even people really close to me are starting to believe that there's a rift between us."

I wouldn't want to wear that ring either...It's huge, yellow, and ugly.
